Hey
I graduated in 05 but am now helping coach a team in BC. In BC, 98% of high school ultimate is mixed and played in the spring. However, in the hopes of expanding and giving teams the opportunity to compete in UPA events for the last 2 years BC has held a single sex provincial championship with the champion having the abilty to apply to HS Westerns.
St. George's and York House (two single sex private schools in Vancouver that combine to play mixed) both attended HS Westerns in 2005 with Saints coming in near the bottom but York House making finals against Nathan Hale.
I'm rambling away from the original topic about practising. We are starting to practice one day a week now in preparation from the BC Single Sex Championships in the hopes of possibly attending UPA HS Westerns 08.
